Can you help with weight loss, muscle gain and/or injury recovery?
I love working to help people become or maintain a good level of resilience. That may well coincide with a change in lifestyle and diet. I can provide plans and accountability when it comes to food intake in order to help with muscle development and fat loss. Injury prehab and rehab is my passion, I love helping people take control of their movement and recover from injury.
What should I bring along to training sessions?
Just bring yourself, and anything you’re comfortable training in!
How often should I train?
3 times a week ideally. That could be once with me and twice elsewhere, but 3 sessions gives you a good amount of recovery time without the body going back to old ways.
Do you train older clients?
Yes! I train people aged from 20 to 70+. It’s never too late to start!
How long before I start seeing results?
It depends. I know it’s not the answer you want to hear but every body is different and responds to training in a different way. In addition, it depends on your recovery - how much time you give yourself to rest properly and how well you eat. Of course, training regularity and intensity also has an impact, as well as your goals. I would say that if you can do at least 2 good training sessions a week (they don’t have to both be with me!) then you can expect to see changes in 4-6 weeks for sure - in terms of aesthetics, quality of movement and reduction in pain. This is dependent on holding up your side of the bargain and making changes where appropriate, but it is very achievable. Book your free assessment here and I can give you a personalised timeline.
What is the difference between fascia and muscle?
Muscles move our joints by contracting and relaxing. Fascia sits on top of the muscles and essentially holds them together a little like if they were wrapped in cling film. If you removed your skin, you’d essentially find fat, blood and fascia before you got down to the muscles like you see in text books.
Do I need to have massage done along with strength training?
Not at all. I can identify what your body might require to move well and stay strong but this doesn’t have to involve massage work or bodywork. It is just one option that I offer. If you’d prefer, I can provide exercises for you to do to help balance the body. Book in an assessment and consultation in with me here and we can discuss in more detail
